I'm working on a picture book of Spot the Frog, translating one of the Headless Snowman series into a format that's part graphic novel and part children's book. It's a tricky crossing. Though Spot the Frog was enjoyed by kids, it was mostly the pictures and occasional burp. Reworking the strip into a storybook for younger hands requires the ditching at sea of subplots, convoluted jokes, and elaborate language.

I'm not sure what will become of this book. I have the feeling that it's destined to become the missing link between my comic strip career and my picture book work.
