This one was a little tricky. In the Twilight Zone episode, Burgess Meredith is sitting on library steps surrounded by books. His glasses are broken. I thought it would be funny to keep his glasses intact, but give him a broken Kindle.

To make the connection between the cartoon and the TZ episode, I started drawing stacks of books and broken bookcases. That's the look of the classic scene. And then it occured to me that a broken Kindle wouldn't be tragic if he still had the books at hand.

This was my first caption: In the classic Twilight Zone episode, Burgess Meredith breaks his Kindle. I changed it to the above because I worried about the reader thinking, so what? he can still read the books.

I tossed a coin for the solution. But I might toss it again.
